As the founder and backend engineer, I’m building Guestel, a Django-based RESTful API for rental and property management. The platform enables hosts to list properties (homes, hotels, shortlets) and guests to discover, verify, and book rentals securely. Integrated Paystack for escrow-based payments to ensure trust. Leveraging PostgreSQL for data management and Redis for caching, the API is designed for scalability and performance. I lead a team of three (myself, a frontend engineer, and a designer), coordinating via Git to deliver a seamless user experience, targeting 10,000 monthly active users upon launch.
